Characteristics
Victorian Tripod Occasional Table with Removable Copper Charger
English, late 19th century
A charming Victorian occasional table of elegant proportions, featuring a circular dished top fitted with a beautifully hand-hammered copper charger. The charger is decorated with an inset geometric diamond border, lending the piece both decorative richness and practical versatility.
The warm tones of the copper complement the deep patina of the timber base, while the removable charger allows the table to function either as a serving stand with tray or as a standalone side table. Beneath, the turned baluster column rises from a tripod base with finely shaped overscrolled legs terminating in original brass casters, providing both stability and mobility.
The piece displays excellent colour and surface character throughout, reflecting the craftsmanship and decorative sensibilities of the Victorian period.
