Learn to rush your own chair using traditional natural rush.

Over two days at our Northamptonshire workshop, we'll guide you through the process of creating a traditional hand-rushed seat on a chair of your own.

You'll learn how to prepare the frame and the rush, establish the pattern, build and shape the seat, maintain the correct tension and finish it ready for many more years of use.

The workshop runs from 10am–4pm on both days, with plenty of individual tuition along the way. Rush, tools and other materials are provided, together with tea, coffee and a locally sourced lunch on both days.

You'll need to bring a suitable chair with you - send us a photo (flora@summerfieldandscott.co.uk) and we can check that it's suitable.

No previous experience necessary.
